Because it encompasses the study of aspects of other subjects, geography holds a unique place in the primary school curriculum. To put it another way, geography is an inter-disciplinary subject in itself. Children should be able to place themselves and their nation within the global space known as the world by studying geography. They should be able to comprehend the social, cultural, and economic realities of their country, continent, and planet, as well as the human agents who inhabit those realities.

Cameroon continues to encounter several obstacles in the areas of economic and social development as a developing country. It is necessary to improve everyone’s health, combat climate hunger and superstition, conserve natural resources, safeguard the environment, and develop industrial production techniques to boost the natural economy. Science education in primary schools is anticipated to lay the groundwork for scientific knowledge, attitudes, and abilities that will help us tackle our country’s developmental problems. In light of these considerations, the primary science curriculum is divided into two sections: (1) health education, and (2) environmental and science technology.

Home economics is a key school subject that aims at providing the youth
with the knowledge and skills required for effective home management and
successful living. In the past the subject was restricted to girls.
However, current trends in society require that both girls and boys
acquire the knowledge and skills taught in home economics. The present
syllabus is designed to cover five areas. These are (1) food and
nutrition, (2) house craft, (3) mother craft (4) needle work and
(5)laundry. The four areas are integrated in the six years syllabus as
shown in the table below.
